Gooru
- https://www.gooru.org/welcome/
- Gooru allows faculty to create online classroom environments for students that can be customized for individual students. In addition, Gooru has features to track student progress as they complete the learning modules designed by the faculty member. Primarily, Gooru allows faculty to house all their materials in one location with PowerPoints, videos, and assessments.
Pedagogical Ideas
Gooru has several useful features for online faculty members:
- Formative assessment usage- Faculty can utilize the “ExitTicket” feature of Gooru to create short assessments for students to complete prior to major assignments.
- Flipped classrooms- For ground faculty that want to “flip” their classroom, Gooru is a great resource to do that. All the materials that a faculty member would normally present in class could be presented in Gooru and then
- Students explore other Gooru courses – Students could utilize Gooru as a database to explore other courses that are available to explore. These resources can be used to supplement the resources provided by the faculty in the online classroom environment
