Pedagogical Ideas
As a classroom tool, Educreations allows users to add live digital content to existing presentations. Here are a few ways Educreations could be used in the classroom:
- Flipping the Classroom: This cloud-based app allows instructors to take their normal classroom presentations and add a voice narration coupled with actual writing on the presentation. The whole process is captured live by the app and produces a presentation that is what a student would typically hear AND see during a classroom presentation. Teachers are able to share the Educreations-enhanced presentation with their students who have internet enabled devices.
- Differentiation: Educreations allows instructors to cater lesson materials for specific students or groups of students. Presentations can be created that address specific elements of a lesson that may prove more difficult than others. Students can watch/read the presentation at their own pace to improve understanding of the materials.
- Note Taking: Educreations could be used by students to add their own personalized notes within the presentation if the presentation has been shared by the instructor previously.
- Animation: Students can add their own animations and annotations to presentations that may add to student engagement. Educreations can be produced using any smart device that is internet enabled – i.e. classroom tablets or smartphones.
