ABSTRACT
Students recently shared in GCU End of Course Survey data the desire for faculty members to provide more instruction and application of content and less facilitation of the learning environment. In further review of these comments, students addressed the desire for faculty to share personal insight, connections to the content, and to help with assignment details through explanation and understanding. To this end, in the Teacher Showcase, I share how instructor-created videos can maximize efficacy for faculty members while meeting the desired needs of students. With an emphasis on practicality, I walk viewers through strategies, tools, and best practices to leverage videos to best support students.
