The SoTL Mentor Badge honors experienced educators who provide guidance, support, and mentorship to their peers in SoTL endeavors at the institutional level, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development within the university. This revised rubric focuses on mentorship activities that enhance the educational community within the institution.
Leading Studies as a Mentor
Level 1: Guides one or more junior faculty or peers in SoTL studies within the department.
Level 2: Leads several SoTL projects within the institution, effectively mentoring a diverse group of faculty members.
Level 3: Serves as a senior mentor for major institutional SoTL initiatives, shaping the research culture at the university.
Mentorship Programs
Level 1: Facilitates or participates in existing SoTL mentorship programs at the departmental level.
Level 2: Develops or significantly enhances SoTL mentorship programs that serve multiple departments or the entire faculty.
Level 3: Establishes and directs a key institutional SoTL mentorship program recognized for its excellence and comprehensive reach.
Testimonials from Mentees
Level 1: Receives positive feedback from mentees within the department, showing effective mentorship.
