1. The manuscript's title does not clearly align to what is discussed. It appears to not be focused. The manuscript appears to not lead into the discussion of intentionality. A connection between the title and the abstract has not been made.
2. Most of the sources are outdated, which makes it difficult to determine the manuscript's relevance.
1. From the beginning abstract, it is difficult to determine how a concept like "Intentionality" will be addressed in the manuscript. The term "Distributed Leadership" is used in the beginning paragraphs, and it is unclear what this term means. I would suggest defining "Distributed Leadership" and providing a richer discussion for how it relates to the focus of this manuscript (Intentionality in Higher Education?). A richer discussion can be provided with more diversity in sources, and using the recent literature of 10 years or less so 2012 to present.
2. Perhaps this manuscript is trying to be too broad, but I could not tell what the real focus was. Are we taking a concept like "Distributed Leadership" or "Intentionality" and contrasting/applying it to higher education leadership practices of today? How do developmental methodologies for leadership relate to the two concepts mentioned above?
3. I think reworking the scope of this manuscript will make it worthy of publication. Narrowing the focus and applying one concept will better inform something like "Intentionality" for higher education leaders. Perhaps a guided interview of a few higher education leaders, or applying a specific education intervention to a higher education mock case study will generate more value for the field/reader.
Thank you for your manuscript. I see value in this study, but like the other reviewers, the topic feels very broad...almost a report about many elements of leadership. You write about Educational Administration and Distributed Leadership, but also talk about communication, technology, and higher eduction leaders as Entrepreneurs. There a so many elements of leadership whether higher education, or K-12... It would be an interesting study to connect your leadership work with a series of interviews/observations/surveys for campus leadership and a focus on only one or two elements: communucation or distributed leadership.
No page numbers, so I'll put these in order:
