Nice work Jeff, this essay reminded me of my classroom management classes in college. Being that I teach mostly online now I wonder what "proximity" would look like in an online classroom. Tom

I wonder if there is more recent research about proximity as well as how this might apply to online learning----both for the K-12 setting and for the college setting. Do you think there's a difference? What techniques might be valid for staying "close" to the distant learner? I really look forward to a discussion about this.
