Tennille, Jennifer, and Rebecca,
Thanks for your presentation. Yes, being kind and thoughtful is always helpful in our online classrooms. I always do imagine my own children in a classroom and how I would hope they would be treated. Scaffolding brings a feeling security and comfort because they recognize what they learned previously in other classes or earlier in the same class in which they are currently enrolled. How do each of you incorporate Loom or some other audio/video delivery method?—Dr. Priscilla Bamba
Thank you for the reply, Priscilla! I agree scaffolding helps build buy in and confidence. I use loom videos of a sample essay for each essay, loom video feedback for each student on the first rough draft or journal, and other found and created videos throughout courses. I even sing to my classes in my first discussion post -How to Avoid the Online Student Blues, lol!
