Abstract
Research indicates that online students drop classes up to 40 percent more than their onground counterparts, and almost always within the first two weeks of class. The top two reasons students give for withdrawing from their online classes are they did not like the instructor, and they did not like the class. Making the online class more engaging and inviting is in every educator’s best interest. In this presentation we focus on personalizing various parts of class including the instructor bio, the welcome post, and hosting face-to-face Zoom meetings. We will also review my themed website that houses my online booking system for 15 minute private Zoom sessions students are invited to schedule.
