New Login – Microsoft Azure Authentication Available for CIRT!
As of Wednesday, December 18th, Microsoft Azure Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication will be available.
What does this mean?
When logging into CIRT, you will authenticate through Microsoft Azure SSO, the same way you do for Office 365 applications today. You no longer need to enter your email or password.
Login Steps:
- Go to the CIRT site
- On the top left, click Sign In
- Select a Sign In Button:
- Staff or Faculty – top button “GCU Staff and Faculty”
- External Users – bottom…
The 8th Annual Kevin McClean Research Colloquium (KMRC)
The 8th Annual Kevin McClean Research Colloquium (KMRC) will be a one day event held on Monday March 3, 2025 that will include face to face, asynchronous virtual, and synchronous virtual presentations.
The 2025 Kevin McClean Research Colloquium will be held in three formats as follows:

CIRT hosts the SoTL Summit every fall to bring faculty of all experience levels together in pursuit of developing their SoTL research.
During the summit we consider timely issues within SoTL scholarship for all levels of researchers.

Kimberly Buenger, Ph.D, is adjunct faculty in the College of Education at Grand Canyon University. Kimberly has taught in higher education since 2019 in the areas of early childhood and special education. In addition to GCU, she has more than twenty years serving students in education, currently as an early childhood support teacher for Olathe Unified School District in Kansas.
Kimberly’s educational background includes a B.A. in Communication Disorders, M.A.E. in Special Education, and Ph.D. in General Psychology with an Emphasis in Integrating Technology, Learning, and Psychology. Her research interests include the use of gamification on student learning in higher education as well as the use of technology in the early childhood classroom. She has engaged in the THINK! Program and plans to also enroll in INK, with a goal of generating a manuscript.

The August SoTL Spotlight highlights a collaborative research project in progress. Russ Schwarz and Brian Hardy completed THINK! in June 2019. Interestingly, it wasn’t until January 2021 when the two were approached by CIRT that the perfect SoTL project was identified that blended their background in marketing with their interest in understanding faculty motivations to engage in SoTL research. The two are now in the midst of data analysis. The topic of their manuscript is: “Examining Faculty Motivations for Engaging in SoTL Programming”.
July 2023 Spotlight
The July SoTL Spotlight highlights a collaborative research project in progress. Marcela Knapp, Kimberly Werking, Joan Lawrence, and Anna “Andi” Johnson completed SoTL’s THINK Tank in April 2022. Interestingly, Joan and Andi teach in CHSS and Kimberly and Marcela teach in COE, making this the first time most of the four met each other.

The June SoTL Spotlight highlights a collaborative THINK! project in progress. Maurice Penny and Coty Richardson (both Adjunct Faculty in the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology) completed THINK! and are currently awaiting IRB approval on their THINK! project.
