Author Biographies:

Sarah Robertson is an online instructor at who teaches full time at Grand Canyon University for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Within GCU’s College of Education, Sarah teaches traditional courses as an adjunct. Sarah has more than seven years of experience in education and maintains her regular (1^st -8^th grade), special (k-12^th grade) education, and middle grades math teaching certifications.  Robertson was the co-recipient of scholarly engagement grants to further explore the impact of instructor-generated multimedia in the classroom. Sarah is currently completing coursework through Grand Canyon University toward a Ph.D. in Psychology with an Emphasis in Cognition and Instruction.  Her professional pursuits include action research to further improve student engagement, motivation, and information retention/application within both online and traditional courses.

 John Steele is an Online Assistant Professor at Grand Canyon University who teaches Critical Thinking and Psychology. John has more than nine years of experience in education and holds a B.A.E from Central Michigan University, a Master’s in Education in School Counseling, and a Master’s in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. John has completed research, contributed to scholarly journal submissions, and presented at professional conferences in the areas of technology integration for online learning. John is currently pursuing his Doctorate degree in General Psychology with an emphasis in integrating Technology, Learning, and Psychology. His professional interests include research to examine student engagement and participation in the online learning platform, classroom assessment techniques, and academic integrity.
