Join the GCU community of teaching scholars and provide your feedback on the current discussion papers for the Journal of Instructional Research.
The Journal of Instructional Research (JIR) is an annual publication by the Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching at Grand Canyon University that highlights faculty research relevant to best practices in post-secondary instruction. Unique to JIR is the use of a two-stage evaluation process with public peer review, interactive discussion and final formalized peer review.
We are seeking your participation in reviewing, providing feedback and discussing the current submissions to JIR. All individuals who participate in the public review and discussion process will be issued a certificate of professional engagement appropriate for inclusion in your professional development portfolio. In addition, this is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience as a peer reviewer for academic journal outlets.
Current discussion papers include:
• Experience with Online and Open-Web Exams - Ed Gehringer
• Students' Perceptions of Journaling in Undergraduate Classes - Destinee A. Nelson, Hannah Vontz, Krista K. Fritson & Krista D. Forrest
• Using Emotional Intelligence as a Basis for Developing an Online Faculty Guide for Emotional Awareness - Jodi McKnight
• What's Love Got to do with It? Crafting an Approach to Online Teaching - Paul Meyer
To participate in the review process (while simultaneously fostering your own knowledge of emergent teaching practices), visit the JIR website at: http://cirt.gcu.edu/jir/discussionpapers. The public review period lasts until June 30, 2012. In order to participate in the discussion, you will need to create a CIRT account login at: http://cirt.gcu.edu/join. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Jean Mandernach (jean.mandernach@gcu.edu).
