How are your Bible Skills?
How are your Bible skills? Being an instructor with the College of Theology, one of the biggest things that I see as I teach classes here at GCU is that a lot of students do not know how find certain things in the Bible and they do not know how to use the Bible. Through these blogs I am trying to provide as many spiritual tools to help the student and the instructor with guidance in this area. I was recently asked by a student to give her a tool to help find scripture passages because she knew very little about the Bible and she did not understand what all of the numbers within the Bible stood for. In this blog I am providing a power point presentation that is an overview of the Bible Basics.
As I have given this tool to many students since I have been here as a full time online instructor, it has been very helpful tool to provide. Most have given great feedback for providing it for them. This power point has been the single most effective tool that students use to get a good understanding of the Bible and how to use it. I am not sure who created this power point originally but I was given this tool by one of our other FTF's, Brett Berger.
As a team, we often share resources that we provide for our students and this tool is one that a lot of us use to help our students understand how to use the Bible. I hope that you will enjoy this resource and I hope that you will pass this on to your students to help them in their journey here at GCU. Take care and God Bless. Matt

Hello Matthew:
Thank you for posting this excellent PowerPoint presentation. The material continued in the presentation does an excellent job explaining the basic of the Bible, which can be useful for to help integrate Christian precepts into any of our courses.

Matthew,
Thanks for this powerpoint. As a College of Theology professor here at Grand Canyon University, I have used it in the past before as well. It would be great to find out who the author is though. Is there any way to research this and find out?
