In describing the concept of the presentation Rick writes,
"The Flipped Classroom is a new teaching practice that's gaining popularity across the nation. The Flipped Classroom moves from a traditional "teacher-centered" model in favor of an engaging "student-centered" classroom. This is accomplished by having a majority of the new content delivered to the home using Web 2.0 tools. In turn, class time is freed up for higher order, student-centered activities that encourage exploration and application of the newly learned content. The two main components that influence the learning environment of a Flipped Classroom are educational technology and learning through activity."
In general the workshop focused on defining the flipped classroom, its benefits and how to create a flipped classroom using web 2.0 tools.
