Fall 2014 Honors Symposium on
Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship

All Students, Staff, Faculty and Alumni of Grand Canyon University are invited to submit a paper addressing "Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship."
Specific topics may be drawn from science, business, education, the arts and healthcare, among other areas. Submissions will be considered for recognition and presentation at an Honors Symposium in December 2014, and for publication in the Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (CJIS) in the spring 2015.
This symposium is intended to provide a forum for all interested students, staff, faculty and alumni to express their positions regarding the theme of the symposium, Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship. The topic can be approached from any one or from a combination of the elements. That is, a paper's focus could be innovation and/or technology and/or entrepreneurship. Sample topics include
Nursing - Innovation in Patient Care
Education - Effectiveness of Technology in Teaching
Arts -Technology and Text Analysis - Revelations in Literature
Fine Arts - Social Media and the Arts
Science - The Scientist as an Entrepreneur
Business - Nurturing Innovation in Large Organizations - the Intrepreneur Challenge
The deadline for submissions is October 30, 2014. Papers are subject to peer review. Those selected for presentation at the symposium, as well as others deemed "honorable mention," may be published in the CJIS symposium issue (https://cirt.gcu.edu/research/publication_presentation/gcujournals/cjis). Notification to those individuals whose papers are selected for formal presentation at the symposium will be made by November 15, 2014. The symposium will be held at the Ken Blanchard College of Business the week of December 1, 2014.
- Submissions should be made electronically to Dr. R. Kevin McClean, Professor of Marketing, and to Dr. Moronke Oke, Associate Professor of Management, Co-Advisors, Eta Chi Chapter, Delta Mu Delta. (We request that you alert Drs. McClean and/or Oke of your intention to submit via email as soon as possible, at email@example.com or Moronke.Oke@gcu.edu ). Questions regarding submission can be directed to Dr. McClean or to Dr. Moronke Oke. Please note that Dr. Oke is also editor of the symposium issue of CJIS.

- Length: the paper should be no more than 30-pages (excluding cover, index, exhibits, references, and attachments).
