All Students, Staff, Faculty and Alumni of Grand Canyon University are invited to submit a paper addressing “Social Responsibility.” Specific topics may be drawn from government, business, education, science, or the workplace. Submissions will be considered for recognition and presentation at an Honors Symposium in December 2015, and for publication in the Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (CJIS).

 This symposium is intended to provide a forum for all interested students, staff, faculty and alumni to express their positions regarding the theme of the symposium, Social Responsibility. The topic can be approached from a religious or philosophical perspective or other more discipline-specific perspectives. By way of example, publication topics regarding social responsibility include these examples

•  Social Responsibility and research ethics
• Social responsibilities of biological scientists
• Nursing as social responsibility
• Corporate Social Responsibility – good for business
• Corporate Social Responsibility – strategic implications
• Socially responsible education

 The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2015. Papers are subject to peer review. Those selected for presentation at the symposium, as well as others deemed “honorable mention,” may be published in the CJIS symposium issue (https://cirt.gcu.edu/research/publication_presentation/gcujournals/cjis) Notification to those individuals whose papers are selected for formal presentation at the symposium will be made by November 7th, 2015. The symposium will be held at the Colangelo College of Business the week of December 7th.
