CIRT would like to congratulate Shay Meinzer, Doctoral Candidate, College of Doctoral Studies for her presentation
“Leader Efficacy and Motivation to Lead Among Sworn Law Enforcement Females” at the
Association for Psychological Science Annual Convention, Washington DC, May 23-26, 2019
The quantitative, correlational study examined if and to what extent leadership self-efficacy and leadership self-efficacy combined with multiple demographic covariables predicted motivation to lead among sworn law enforcement females. The regression analyses provided empirical evidence that leadership self-efficacy statistically significantly predicted general and factor level (affective-identity, non-calculative, socio-normative) motivation to lead. When considering leadership self-efficacy combined with multiple demographic covariables, few demographic variables contributed to the statistical significance of the predictive models. Moreover, the demographic predictor variables statistically significantly improved only the non-calculative motivation to lead predictive model among the sworn law enforcement females participating in the study.
