The Journal of Instructional Research (JIR) is an annual publication by the Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching at Grand Canyon University that highlights faculty research relevant to best practices in post-secondary instruction. Unique to JIR is the use of a two-stage evaluation process with public peer review, interactive discussion and, for interested authors, final formalized peer review.

Topics suitable for submissions to JIR include, but are not limited to:

  • Innovative teaching methods
  • Pedagogy
  • Technology-mediated instruction or assessment
  • Course design or delivery
  • Evaluation of learning
  • Evaluation of modes of instructional delivery
  • Learning management systems
  • Best practices in college teaching
  • Student characteristics that impact teaching

For submission guidelines, sample manuscripts, and additional information, visit the JIR website at www.instructionalresearch.com or email Dr. Jean Mandernach at [email protected].
