Dear CIRT Community,
You are invited to participate in the 2013 Online Teaching Showcase (OTS). The 2013 Online Teaching Showcase focused on Classroom Assessment Techniques is now posted on CIRT at: http://cirt.gcu.edu/teaching/ots/otspresentations.
The Online Teaching Showcase (OTS) provides a forum for the scholarly exchange of best practices in virtual education. The 2013 OTS features a range Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) aimed at helping students reach their learning goals. For online teachers, CATs can become an important tool for helping students master content while allowing for feedback that can inform lesson planning and teaching activities.
Unique to OTS is the online, time-limited, asynchronous nature of interactions that provide a forum for professional exchange not limited by the traditional conference confines of time, location or funding. As such, OTS attendees and presenters have the flexibility to login to the conference showcase at their own convenience, download or archive select presentations, and view presentations with respect to specific interests.
The goals of the Online Teaching Showcase are:
To enhance the quality of online instruction through the dissemination of effective teaching strategies.
To encourage scholarly dialogue about best practices in online instruction and assessment among faculty teaching online.
To increase awareness of the range and diversity of innovative instructional and assessment strategies available in the online classroom.
We would like to welcome you to our teaching showcase and invite you to ask questions, comment and provide your own experiences in the online classroom. Presenters will be available to respond to questions throughout the month of June.

Personal notation from a long time online learner---, students DQ submissions should reflect the assigned readings or at least request a summery to enhance memory of the topics and ensure the student read and can incorperate the new information. In addition, DQ posts should not allow a submission until a student has posted to enhance originallity. Also, replies should focus to address what has not had a relpy to enhance students various discussion opinions. Thank you for the forum to post my ideas.
