WHY are there ads in our courses? Is anyone else seeing this?
Who would ever authorize this or think this is appropriate or acceptable, especially given the disputes with the federal government regarding the status of GCU as for-profit or not? Personally, I find it deeply offensive and I don't want anything like this shown in my classes. How can we get these removed immediately?

I've just confirmed that the ad is visible to students. It would be bad enough if this was only being pushed on faculty, but to have that be student-facing is absolutely mortifying. I know awareness can be brought to this issue in this forum, but does anyone know what office we might need to contact to get these ads removed?
I've posted an announcement with a disclaimer to my classes to let them know that "this is not something I have added to my classes nor did I approve this addition to our online classroom." I also apologized if this was disruptive to their learning, and encouraged them to share their feedback to me or in their end of course evaluations. Hopefully, with enough complaints, the ads will be removed quickly.
I did not see any on my end.

Could the advertisement be aimed just at adjuncts and/or students or those who are not part of the credit union to lure them in? This is odd, especially because we have not had any info from GCU about this new additional advertisement feature to our classrooms. A little creepy...
Lucinda George I do not know. I was logged on today, grading and responding to my students, and I saw no advertisements. Someone earlier mentioned it was just on the student's HALO. However, I am unsure.
