The Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (CJIS, http://cirt.gcu.edu/teaching) is published online three times per year through the Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching at Grand Canyon University (GCU), and highlights exemplary student and faculty research completed at GCU.
The goals of CJIS are:
1. To encourage exchange of empirical and theoretical research among faculty and students at GCU, especially graduate students and doctoral learners.
2. To provide graduate students and doctoral learners professional experience in the dissemination and publication of their work.
3. To increase awareness of the range and diversity of research being conducted by faculty and students/learners at GCU.

OfflineDonna DeTommaso-Kleinert received the Outstanding Dissertation Student Award for her study on An Emotional Quotient Profile of an Emergent Teacher Leader by the Arizona School Administrators, Higher Education Division.
Donna's study shows how emergent teacher leaders were significantly higher on the emotional quotient scale than non teacher leaders in the area of independence, empathy, stress management, stress tolerance, reality testing, and overall general mood and optimism. Emergent teachers tested in a similar fashion to those in the business sector.
