After attending four in-person Residencies in Phoenix, I have found that it is very difficult to isolate the best choice of methodology, the optimized approach to the literature review, the data collection approach, or formulating the research questions, among many other dissertation activities, from the dissertation topic itself. Even though the website below was created for "undergraduate dissertations" in the U.K., I find that it presents very holistic and practical advice for doctoral learners. In addition to the brief lectures in each section, there are videos that accompany each topic. It should be viewed with a critical mindset, as some of the more minor technical points covered might not work in the U.S. at GCU, but many of the suggestions are very universal, and should help you to carefully contemplate some of the most important dissertation best practices. If you are just starting out in your doctoral journey, it may present you with a useful roadmap of some questions that will be in your future. Likewise, if you are far along in the process, then it may inspire some new ideas for you to explore in order to refresh your approach.
