All Students, Staff, Faculty and Alumni of Grand Canyon University are invited to submit a paper addressing "Diversity." Specific topics may be drawn from government, business, education, science, or the workplace. Submissions will be considered for recognition and presentation at an Honors Symposium in December 2012, and for publication.

This symposium is intended to provide a forum for all interested students, staff, faculty and alumni to express their positions regarding the theme of the symposium, Diversity. The topic can be approached from a religious or philosophical perspective or other more discipline-specific perspectives. By way of example, the following are offered as possible topics:

• Globalization of Science
• Diversity in the Marketplace
• Diversity and Christian Values
• Diversity in the Workforce
• Serving a Diverse Customer Base
• Servicing a Diverse Patient Population in Nursing
• Globalization of Culture
• Dynamics of Diversity
• Diversity in a Democracy
• Does Diversity Matter?
• Diversity in Entertainment
• Diversity in the Classroom
• Portfolio Diversity
• Community Pluralism

The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2012. Papers are subject to peer review. Those selected for presentation at the symposium, as well as others deemed "honorable mention," may be published in the Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (CJIS) symposium issue (http://cirt.gcu.edu/research/cjis). Notification to those individuals whose papers are selected for formal presentation at the symposium will be made by November 1, 2012. The symposium will be held at the Ken Blanchard College of Business the week of December 5th. (The exact date will be selected and announced after the start of the fall 2012 semester).

• Submissions should be made electronically to Dr. R. Kevin McClean, Professor of Marketing and Moderator, Eta Chi Chapter, Delta Mu Delta. (We request that you alert Dr. McClean of your intention to submit via email as soon as possible, at [email protected]). Questions regarding submission can be directed to Dr. McClean, or to Dr. Moronke Oke, Professor of Management, co-advisor for Delta Mu Delta, and editor of the symposium issue of CJIS ([email protected]).

• Length: the paper should be no more than 30-pages (excluding cover, index, exhibits, references, and attachments).
