Nice work colleagues! Your points regarding the value of integrating technology to improve student and faculty success are spot on. Implementing e-learning tools can enhance interactivity between students and instructors; thusly, improving online instructional and learning experiences for students and faculty. Thanks for sharing your work!
Thank you Nikki. We appreciate the feedback. Collaboration was so important to us as we began to create and integrate technology into the online classroom. Do you believe that collaboration is valuable in this endeavor? What type of web 2.0 tools have you or would like to use in your classroom? Did this presentation trigger anything for you in regards to what you might initiate in your own classroom regarding integrating technology? I look forward to the continued conversation.
I like the dialogue we have going! Collegial support and collaborative interchanges between faculty, students, curriculum developers, and instructional designers are essential in embracing student success, enhancing technology, and adopting new practices in our classrooms.
I frequently use weebly and survey polls to assess students' knowledge of course material and topics. In fact, each week I post a weebly link to help students better understand the steps involved in the writing process. Weebly is an interactive website where you can create videos, add outside links, pdfs, and other documents that students can easily access. I noticed that you used Moovly for your presentation and it looks similar to weebly, but I am eager to try it out. Any suggestions?
Yes, we used Weebly extensively and discussed its benefits and why to use it in our presentation. Moovly is a nice tool, however very different than Weebly. It is a nice way to create media, but is time consuming.
Geniuses at work, I tell you! Integrating technology into the classroom keeps the students engaged. As long as we make the links and resources easy to access, I think this is a great way to keep student interested in learning the weekly objectives. Setting an example for the students is a great way to motivate them to stay on task as well. :-)
This was a helpful presentation. I like the idea of integrating technology into the classroom. Keeping students engaged in the discussions can be tough at times however the use of technology will help students with different learning styles to participate more.
I am a new instructor here, and have had a similar experience in trying to keep students (who are VERY busy) to be able to absorb all of the needed concepts. I am particularly interested in Animoto, and how to add these into Loud Cloud. Any tips on this?
