3. Tracking the Status of Your Application


Once you have submitted your IRB Submission Packet, you may want to track the status of your application. To do so, follow the instructions attached below.

The following table provides definitions for common event descriptions: 

   Event  Description
  		  Definition
  
  IRB Committee  College of Doctoral Studies received the submission    IRB has received  the submission and it is under review
  IRB - College of  Doctoral Studies Committee assigned a Pre-review action of [Study  Classification]    The review process  has been determined by the IRB.  The review processes are:   Assigned to an agenda, exempt, expedited, pre-review corrections, or  process administratively.  
  Send Email with  Merge Code
  Two emails are  triggered.
  1.    Researcher received an email notifying them that the submission has been received 
  2.    IRB Office receive an email notifying them that the submission has entered their queue.
  [Researcher] as  Principal Investigator review and apply signoff   The researcher has  signed off and submitted their study.
  
  IRB Committee  College of Doctoral Studies returned the submission for correction    The study has been  returned for corrections. A Submission Correction is a request for revisions  from the IRB. Follow the instructions here to complete Submission  Corrections.
  
  [IRB Reviewer] has  been assigned as the analyst.    An IRB Reviewer  has been assigned as the coordinator for this study.
  
  Submission  Reviewer by Assigned User: [Supervisor/Chair, etc.]    The submission has  been assigned to [Supervisor/Chair, etc.] for initial review. They will  approve or deny the submission. If they deny the submission, the researcher  will have the ability to make changes to their submission packet. If they  approve the submission, the packet will be routed to the IRB for review.  
  IRB assigned with  the IRB Number of [IRB-****-***]   The study was  assigned an IRB Number for tracking purposes.  
  All study  personnel have been verified with up to date training records.    Study personnel  have been verified with up to date training records.
  
  Initial Review  Submission Packet is waiting to be submitted    The submission  packet is waiting to be submitted.  PI has not yet signed off on the  submission.
