I think that the Syllabus plays a huge part in instructional clarity of the classroom. Many times when students call and ask for help, they have not actually read the Syllabus. It seems as though these students try to complete the assignemnt without reading the module readings or reading the Syllabus. I usually have these students contact me when they are by their computers and I walk them through the Syllabus reading it out loud to them and pointing out how clear the Syllabus really is if they take the time to read it. Usually, after I do this. the students are clear of the expectations for the rest of the course! I appreciate your ideas and the presentation was very informative!
