Call for Proposals for the 24th Annual WCET Conference is Now Open!

Deadline for Submissions: March 16, 2012

WCET invites you to share some of the innovative concepts, good practices, new research findings that are making a difference in how technology advances higher education. Submit a conference presentation proposal and plan to join higher education practitioners and leaders for WCET's 24th Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX, October 31-November 3, 2012.

The Program Committee and WCET design the conference to be a stimulating, forward-looking program that represents the multiple perspectives and diverse expertise of its attendees. We want to know what cool things are happening at your institution. Use Twitter hashtag #wcet2012 or our Facebook page to find co-presenters and exchange ideas.

WCET members and non-members are encouraged to submit. Please forward the call for proposal information to your colleagues who may be interested in participating by using the "Forward to a Colleague" button at the bottom of the page.

Sessions that provide attendees with real world applications they can bring back to their institutions are encouraged! Attendees also find value in loosely organized roundtable discussions around a timely topic or issue.

Proposal Submission Process

• Review the submission information.
• Review the rubric which will be used by the committee for evaluating submissions.
• Submit a proposal (100 word summary, 300 word maximum description) by March 16, 2012.
• Include a brief biographical sketch (100 words maximum).
• You will be notified on the status of your proposal in mid-April.
• Plan to attend the WCET Conference October 31-November 3, 2012 in San Antonio!
• Specific time slots for sessions will be allocated in the summer. Please plan on attending the full conference.
• If you are selected as a speaker, the registration fee is the early-bird member rate of $605.00 and speakers must register by September 14, 2012.

Attendee Information

Nearly 400 people attended the Annual WCET Conference in 2011. Representatives include a diverse group of WCET members and non-members from higher education institutions and organizations from across the United States, Canada and even Bermuda. Attendees include: state and national higher education policy leaders, foundation representatives, accreditation executives, campus administrators, IT administrators, faculty, course designers and numerous other job categories associated with e-learning.

Conference Information

The 24th Annual WCET Conference will take place October 31-November 3, 2012 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, TX! The discounted room rate at the Marriott is $179.00 per night (double/single) The regular rate for the same dates is $379 per night!

Registration will open online May 1, 2012.
