Denver, CO - September 6, 2012 - The 2012 ILA Conference in Denver will feature a perennial favorite, the 6th Annual ILA Student Case Competition. Undergraduate and graduate student teams from around the world will compete to further their leadership development and presentation skills. Monetary prizes and complimentary ILA memberships will be awarded to the winning teams in the two competition divisions, undergraduate and graduate.
Are your students attending the ILA Conference in October? This is a unique opportunity to give your leadership students their own role at the conference and further develop their leadership skills. Each team comprises three to five students. Students may enter as a team representing their respective college or university, or individuals from multiple institutions may join together to form a team. Schools may register multiple teams for each category of the competition

Competition Structure: The Student Case Competition consists of three rounds:
Round 1: Registered teams receive the selected case study and questions on September 17. Teams must prepare a two - four page brief due on October 17.
Round 2: Each team then prepares a poster of their analysis to present during the Student Poster Showcase from 6 - 7pm on Wednesday, October 24, at the beginning of the conference. The three teams in each division that earn the highest scores will compete in Round 3. Finalists will be named following the Student Poster Showcase.
Round 3: Finalists will continue building on their case analysis, using the ILA Conference sessions for further learning and supporting material. Each team will deliver a 15-minute presentation to a panel of judges on Friday, October 26 at 5pm. The
Finalists will be recognized and competition winners will be announced during the Conference Closing Plenary at 1pm on Saturday, October 27. The first and second place teams in each category will receive complimentary one‐year ILA memberships for each team member. In addition, the first place team in each category will receive $1,000 to divide amongst the team members.

**All interested student teams are encouraged to engage in the case study through Round 2. However, please note that only one team per school per division may advance to Round 3.
