More SPSS training: A great how-to video series
Doctoral learners often ask me if they need to "hire a statistician" for their statistical analysis. My answer is: Probably not! If you can use Microsoft Word, then you can probably use SPSS!
The quant analysis steps in SPSS are truly quite intuitive as long as you know how to: 1) gather the needed data, 2) which study to use, 3) how to use SPSS to conduct your analysis, and 4) some basic knowledge of how to interpret the SPSS output. If you viewed my blog yesterday on the FREE online statistics training, then you will have a better understanding of Step 4. I will be commenting on each of these points in upcoming webinars, but today will be focusing on step #3. The website below has some great video tips on using SPSS - I recommend the "Intro to SPSS" section, as well as the videos on linear regression (stats/plots), "Frequencies and Descriptives," as well as "T-test procedures." Of course, there are many other great videos offered, but you will likely be focusing on simple and multiple regression, t-tests, and descriptive statistics (graphs/charts). For those of you who prefer the traditional PDF manual, I also offer below the link to the IBM "brief guide" on using SPSS. For most students, the video resource will be much more helpful!
