Nominations

Presenters for the Teaching Showcase are nominated and selected as a function of their proven success and innovation in the classroom. Faculty may be self- or peer-nominated in relation to excellence in teaching; teaching excellence is viewed broadly across a wide range of relevant domains:

  • instructional strategies
  • curriculum design
  • innovative assessment
  • technology integration
  • active learning strategies
  • reflective practice, 
  • pedagogy
  • student engagement
  • critical thinking
  • student learning

All faculty (fulltime, part-time, campus-based or online) at Grand Canyon University are eligible to be nominated for the Teaching Showcase Award. Teaching Showcase Awards are limited to members of the GCU community. 

Nominations will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Innovation 
  • Impact of Instructional Practice
  • Excellence in Teaching

 Winners of the Teaching Showcase Award will be invited to feature one of their best practices in an asynchronous, feature presentation that will be shared via the Teaching Showcase.
