CIRT is a great tool for starting research. There are many that may have the same interests as yourself, which can lead to a strong research group. For example, there are teachers who are currently interested in how servicing ESL students in an online enviornment can be done in the most effective manner. What are your thoughts? Anyone else interested in this study reach out to each other here.
For those who are interested in starting a research project together try to find a way to get in touch and really start diving into it! Very exciting stuff!

Hi Lexi: I am currently finishing up my dissertation on effective practices for ELL students and am working on a project of how to support ELL students in the online format. I would love to continue this area of study so hopefully there will be some people out there wanting to collaborate on this!
Hello Cheryl
This sounds like a great research topic. I have reached out to a few faculty who teach education that may have some interest in this topic as well .
Cheryl,
I would be interested in working with you on this. My area of interest is feedback for ESL Students and how to make this effective in an online environment. Ideas like Jing or voice comments might compare ( qualitative research) are my initial thoughts.
Hello Cheryl and MaryBeth
It is great that you two are starting the collaboration process. The Research Ready program created by CIRT is a great tool as well to help answer any questions about the research process!
Hi MaryBeth: Feedback would definitely be an interesting topic to explore. I would also be interested in looking specifically into what support could be provided to guide them to higher levels of achievement. In my online courses, I've noticed that many of the ELL students I've had need help with their academic writing skills. So perhaps we could look at the feedback and its specificity to help guide higher academic writing? What are your thoughts?
Hi Lexi: Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it!
