Under the old LMS, I used the QTI area for several things including setting up a Prayer Forum. The Class Questions area is the replacement for QTI. However, I am now in my classroom for a class starting next week and I note that as an instructor, I can't start a question. Will this change once class starts? If not, what do other faculty use for a Prayer Forum? I also offer Homework helps in the QTI area which I think is a better place as I have found only half the students (or less) go to the Announcement area past the first week. I'm open to any suggestions.

Angela Parker , Thanks. It is not in the Class Questions area where I figured it would be since that was replacement to QTI. I guess we (faculty) can not start in the CQ area. I will put my helps (and prayer forum) in the DQ area now as suggested.
I am having the same problem. I Do not see an option for "discussions". I see no way to add a Prayer Forum. This will be my first Halo class. Also, I do not see a "dashboard" option. The class opens to the "calendar" option.
Never mind. I found "discussion forums" in the vertical left navigation bar.
Unfortunately, the link included in my Prayer and Inspiration Discussion Topic intro did not display as a live link. And I see no way to correct that. In the previous platform, once could easily correct links, and make sure that they opened in a new window, too. With Halo, there seems to be no way to do that, unfortunately.
Alexis,
Sometimes that function works or not, not working is more common, .
If the active link does not work for me, I direct my students to copy/paste.
Also remember, LMS improvements are ongoing, there are likes and dislikes. I do request you to attend the Halo meetings, if possible, and recommend changes.
Once you figure out the quirks, it gets easier.
IT staff has really adopted a lot of changes faculty is requesting. Kudos to them!!!!
Still, you have the forum in which all of us can discuss challenges.

Angela Parker Thank you, Angela!
Is there no spell check function when you post in a DQ?
Also, when I start a new discussion post for a participation topic, I would like to limit it to the current week of grading. Is that possible? I do not see an end date.
