Hi Everyone,
I would like to propose an idea that might encourage our students to move beyond their comfort zones by attending and presenting their work at conferences as well as submitting proposals to publish their research as journal peer-reviewed articles, book chapters in collective works or books in their entirety. I think it is import for our students to know the value and [sometimes unanticipated] benefits of becoming more active during their academic careers which is why it would be timely to share with you the following opportunities that have recently been afforded to me:
I am co-hosting the 1st International Biophilia Summit that will be held in Ireland in May of 2018, and I have attached a copy of the official Call for Papers to this post. This opportunity has led to the development of an international conference hosting collaboration which has been aptly named "Omnidisciplinary.net."
I was notified by National Geographic on August 16, 2017, that my Biophilia video application for their "Chasing Genius" search had been accepted, and went "live" on the NatGeo website under the "Sustainable Planet" category that morning. Here is the link to the NatGeo "Chasing Genius" website which might require that you login to view the video upload:

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional information about how to more effectively engage students, the Biophilia Summit and its CfP, and/or NatGeo's "Chasing Genius" search.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mary Ann O'Grady
