Who is eligible to present at TS?

All faculty at Grand Canyon University are eligible to present their instructional and/or assessment strategies relevant to online learning at TS. Faculty are invited present either individually or with co-authors.

Who can attend TS?

Attendance at TS is open and freely available to all employees at Grand Canyon University. As such, potential attendees may include faculty (full-time, part-time, face-to-face and/or online), staff and administrators.

How do I submit a presentation proposal for TS?

Presentation proposals must include the following:

  • Title of the presentation
  • Abstract
  • 100-word author biography

Proposals must be submitted via the online form at: http://cirt.gcu.edu/teaching/ots/submissions/submissionform. Notification concerning acceptance will be made within 3-days of the receipt of the proposal.

What is required for an TS presentation?

TS presentations must include an audio-visual presentation (5-10 minutes) relevant to the target topic. Presenters must commit to monitoring and responding to presentation comments for the duration of the TS live session (one month).  In addition, presenters must submit a condensed abstract,  and .jpg author photo via email to [email protected]. All materials and resources will be posted on the TS website.

In what format do TS presentations have to be submitted?

TS presentations must include both audio and visual components; there are no formal requirements concerning the technical format or the media utilized to create the presentation. As such, presentations may be: videos, audio-narrated PowerPoints, video-supplemented PowerPoints, PDF with embedded audio/video supplements, Loom,  Voicethreads, or any other format that allows for a combination of visual and auditory communicative strategies. How long are TS presentations available for viewing?

Active TS conferences are available for viewing and commenting for one month. TS archives are indefinitely available for viewing without commenting.

Can faculty submit more than one presentation for a single TS?

Yes; there is no limit to the number of presentations a faculty may submit.

What is meant by an "active" TS conference?

TS conferences are active for one month in which presenters are responsible for monitoring and responding to comments. After the one month "active" period, the conference will be archived. As such, archived presentations will be available for viewing, but not commenting.

Is there any compensation for presenting at TS?

There is no monetary compensation for TS presentations. The author of the TS presentation deemed most valuable for the promotion of best practices in online instruction will be invited to, and recognized at, the annual GCU Leadership Conference.
